Assistant Professor (Grade I & II)

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is seeking applications for Assistant Professor positions (Grade I and Grade II) across multiple engineering, science, and humanities departments.

Candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conducting cutting-edge research, publishing in high-impact journals, and participating in departmental and institute-level administrative activities. Education: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree with a consistently good academic record.

Grade II Requirements: Candidates with less than three years of post-Ph.D. industrial, research, or teaching experience.

Grade I Requirements: Candidates with at least three years of post-Ph.D. industrial, research, or teaching experience.

Age Limit: Must not have completed 36 years as of December 31, 2026 (Relaxation applicable for OBC, SC/ST, PwD, and women).

Skills: Demonstrated ability to carry out independent research and a strong commitment to teaching.
